Today is Saint Joan's Day, commemorating Saint Joan the Baptist, who is believed to be born on the 24th of June, the day most nations celebrate the holiday.
In Spain, the mother lode of torturous festivals, they have several different interpretations of the holiday, all are highly violent and oppressive expressions of humans’ dominance over animals.
